NQA Leadership
Karen Blocher, NQA Secretary
Both Karen's grandmothers quilted, but their styles couldn't have been further apart on the quilting spectrum. This may explain why she loves every facet of quilting. Karen began in 1976 when her first child was born, then set quilting aside while she worked and raised her family. She began again in 1998 and has been consumed ever since. She immediately joined the Indianapolis and Bloomington Quilter's Guilds, and has held several committee chairs throughout the years. Karen joined the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show Board of Directors, where she has served as Judging Coordinator for ten years. Her quilts have been exhibited at local, regional and national shows, where she has won numerous awards. Her patterns have been published in several magazines and books. Her passion and enthusiasm continues to grow as she teaches, lectures, judges and writes quilting related articles.
Karen lives on 25 wooded acres near Bloomington, Indiana, where she graduated from the IU Kelley School of Business. She is Mom to three grown sons.
