Cindy Casciato, NQA Grants Program Coordinator and Outreach Chair

Cindy Casciato is a teacher, designer, author and most importantly, a quilter with 28 years of experience teaching quilting and related topics to numerous guilds and organizations. Her first Quilt publication entitled "Block Explosion" was released by Leisure Arts in the fall of 2004. Her second publication entitled: "One Stitch Quilting" the basics, was released by KP Books in the spring of 2006. Her 3rd publication "Stash with Splash" will be released in August of 2010. This book will feature 15 quilt designs with recipes of how to combine your stash and add the splash with newly purchased fabrics. Cindy has her own line of patterns printed under her label entitled "Threads of Friendship".

She is the founder of the very successful Quilt Escape, a quilters' retreat held every year since 1994, and has been able to reach thousands of other quilters and keep the circle of friendship growing. Learn more at www.quiltescape.com.

Cindy was the National Education Manager for Jo-Ann Fabrics for eight years. She was the designer of the American Spirit Quilt Kit for the Patriots Day Project with the American Sewing Guild in June of 2002 presented to Fire Departments nationwide. She is a member of NQA, AQS, and ASG all of which promote the art of quilting and sewing as a viable and rewarding occupation slash passion. Cindy is currently serving as Chapter President of the Akron/Canton Chapter of the American Sewing Guild. She is also serving as the NQA Grant Chair for the Little Quilt Auction held annually at the National Quilt Show in June.

Cindy has been married to the same wonderful man, Drew, for 40 years; he is now active in helping Cindy plan and register quilters at their annual quilting events. They have four children and three grandchildren all of whom reside within a 25 mile radius from their home in Ravenna Ohio.
