National Quilting Association, Inc., Your Link to Education, Creativity, Heritage

Welcome to NQA!

Message from the President

Greetings fellow quilters and members of the National Quilting Association,

I hope you are all busy working on your entries for the 39th Annual NQA show in June! I'm looking forward to meeting many of you in Columbus - show registration is going well, classes are filling, and it promises to be one of the best NQA shows ever. Join us and be a part of it!

I also want to tell you that I am concerned about the lack of response to our call for candidates for the upcoming election. We have several Board positions open, and no one to fill the spaces. I have had a few e-mails from members who have shown interest and I am talking to those members. We would like you all to consider serving in some way either this year or in the future. We have members in every state and our goal is to have Board members from across the country too. We want the experienced and the inexperienced quilter. We feel that everyone has something to offer. NQA is a wonderful organization with a great potential for growth, but we need a few good and willing volunteers. Won't you please consider this? If you have any questions, please e-mail me at president@nqaquilts.org.

If you look in the front of the Quilting Quarterly, you will see all the positions we have on the Board. Officers' positions and the Nominating Committee positions rotate on an alternating schedule so the entire Board doesn't change every year. Committee Chairs and Coordinators also serve two-year terms. There will always be positions open, and we are encouraging fresh ideas that will move us into the future.

Thank you for your consideration,
Connie Davidson
President

CERTIFIED JUDGES PROGRAM

The NQA is the only national organization with a certification program for quilt judges. There are currently seventy-six Certified Judges qualified to judge quilt shows of all sizes throughout the country. Each year three Certified Judges work together to judge the quilts submitted to the Annual NQA Quilt Show. This is accomplished with the assistance from numerous Certified Judges and candidates. Everyone involved continues their education, while volunteering in a national venue. Click here to learn more about the Judge Certification Program.

MEET YOUR BOARD MEMBERS

Your NQA Board Members are some of the dedicated volunteers who strive to keep the spirit of NQA alive. Find out who they are (there are even pictures) so you can recognize them at the show, offer suggestions for the organization, and VOLUNTEER. Without volunteers NQA would not exist and it would be impossible to have the Annual NQA Quilt Show.
