Message from NQA President

Message from President-Elect

From NQA President, Judy Taylor:

Happy Holidays to all of you!  On behalf of the NQA Board of Directors, I wish you all the joy and blessings of the season.  As we approach this hectic time of the year, don’t forget to take a little time to relieve your stress.  Here are some of my favorite ways:

1.       Take a quilting friend to lunch

2.       Give a gift of your time

3.       Call your friends to catch up

4.       Take time to sit down, have a cup of hot tea, read a book and relax for one hour

5.       Get the rest you need to allow you to enjoy your family and friends

The 43rd NQA Quilt Show is well underway.  All information concerning the show is now available on the NQA Web site at http://www.nqaquilt.org/.  The Registration Brochure will be included in the Projects Issue of the Quilting Quarterly.  This issue will be mailed by the end of this week, and should be in member’s hands no later than the 15th of December.   The Show’s Co-Directors are very excited to announce the faculty and classes that will be available.  Don’t forget to register early, as these classes will fill very quickly.  Also new this year, the Lectures at the Show will be located on the Show floor and they will be FREE!  That’s right, the lectures will be open and free to everyone.  So you can sit a bit, learn from an expert in the various fields of quilting and not have to pay.  What can be better than that!

Have you started your 2012 quit entry yet?  If, not make it your New Year’s resolution!  Remember, it’s not a quilt show without quilts!  Start early so you avoid the last minute deadline pressure.

I wish you peace and joy for both this Holiday Season and for 2012.

Judy Taylor

From the President-Elect, Ruth Pollow

Board Positions Remain Open

The run for US President is hitting our airwaves and newsprint with a fury as we move into the election year. At NQA, we have elections coming up in 2012 as well.  Our volunteer status jobs don’t pay as well but the crowds are much friendlier and the jobs are much easier.  We still have several leadership positions that need to be filled.  We can only continue to provide the services you desire, if members just like you, step forward and volunteer. Please don’t wait to do your part for NQA’s future.
