We’re looking forward to seeing you at the NQA’s 45th Annual Quilt Show. We realize that the Holiday weekend will not permit some of you to attend this wonderful quilt show and the other show events that are planned. If you’re not able to attend the show you won’t be able to attend the Little Quilt Auction or place bids at the Silent Auction.

We don’t want you to miss out on the opportunity to show your continued support like you have in the past. We’ve are offering you a way to support the Little Quilt Auction with your monetary gift just by clicking on the link below. Your generous donation will be earmarked as a Grant donation.

The proceeds from the Little Quilt Auction fund the NQA Grant program. Just ask the recipients of the grants what a positive impact their grant has had on their community.

Won’t you help the NQA Grant program with your donation?

Thank you so much,

From the National Quilting Day Coordinator

There is still time for you to submit an entry for the 2015 National Quilting Day Design a Quilt contest. The complete guidelines and rules are posted on the NQA web site

NQA members are invited to participate in a design contest for the 2015 National Quilting Day quilt. National Quilting Day was established by NQA as the third Saturday in March to celebrate quilts and the artistry of those who make quilts. Saturday, March 21, 2015 will be the 24th annual National Quilting Day.

A color illustration of the quilt top design must be submitted to The National Quilting Association, Inc., P.O. Box 12190, Columbus, Ohio 43212-0190 or to NQDCoordinator@nqaquilts.org by July 1, 2014. The winner of the contest will be determined by NQA no later than July 15, 2014. The winning design, tested written pattern instructions, and completed quilt, must be submitted to the Association no later than September 1, 2014. The winning design will be featured as the 2015 National Quilting Day quilt.

The National Quilting Day quilt should be a simple design that could be worked on by several members of a quilting group, including those who may have different levels of expertise.

In addition to having the quilt design published and featured as the 2015 National Quilting Day quilt, the winner of the contest will receive a receive a 3 day admission pass to the 2015 Annual NQA Quilt Show, a show CD and publishing of your pattern in the Quilting Quarterly with a feature article.

From the Quilting Quarterly Editor

The Quilting Quarterly seeks…

A new columnist to write a regular column tentatively called “Quilt as Desired.” The focus of the column will be to educate and instruct readers in making appropriate choices in how to quilt various projects from traditional pieced or appliquéd to Modern. The author will be asked to illustrate her/his writing with photographs or drawings. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience with machine quilting (stationary and/or longarm) but also be able to address hand quilting as a choice and be on top of trends. A stipend will be paid for each column. Interested candidates are asked to submit their quilting resume and qualifications to Barbara Polston, Editor, at editor@nqaquilts.org. Be sure to include your complete name, mailing address, telephone and e-mail contacts. Deadline for initial inquiry is June 1. Finalists will be given directions for submission of a sample column.

From the Certified Teachers Coordinator
