"Sentimental Journey" and Applique to Go Adventure - Cindy Casciato “Sentimental Journey” and Appliqué to Go Adventure |
A Bridge to Forever - Ruth Pollow It's always an accomplishment to finish a project that is started in a class. So many of my UFOs are leftovers from classes I took and never quite got back to finish. I took Kathy McNeil's landscape class at the 2011 NQA Quilt Show and learned a lot from her about color in landscape quilts. This quilt was made from one of her kits and will be donated to my local guild's silent auction at our upcoming Quilt Show. Ruth Pollow, Greenville, South Carolina |

Many Missions - Judy Taylor Many Missions is a quilt that was designed and pieced by my husband, Glen Taylor. It is the result of a class on fracturing he took from Katie Pasquini Masopust. This is an actual mission in Santa Fe, New Mexico known as the Mission San Miguel. It is quilted by Judy Taylor. This quilt won a Second Place ribbon at the 2010 NQA Annual Quilt Show. |

Summer Wedding - Karen Blocher Summer Wedding was made for our son and daughter-in-law for their wedding. It competed in several shows, including the American Quilters Society Show before finding its way to their home. I enjoyed every moment of the 300 hours I spent working on their special gift. With over 50 batiks, it is one of my more ambitious works. |
Sunbonnet Sue - Kathleen Van Orsdel Sunbonnet Sue quilt was in response to an American Quilters Society challenge for an international Sunbonnet Sue of original design. My quilt was titled GI Sue - USA and beyond and won the best hand workmanship in the contest in Des Moines. I was pretty excited to be honored with this. Kathleen Van Orsdel |

The Unfortunate Mermaid - Kathy Lichtendahl The Unfortunate Mermaid is 24” wide and 72” tall. She was created for an exhibit titled “Under the Sea”. My reasoning in designing her was that mermaids should have a 50% chance of being human from the waist up, yet we never see images of those that are unlucky enough to be born the other way. The most fun was in creating the details such as her fishnet stockings, the fishing lure lip ring, and her octopus tattoo! |
WHIG ROSE 2 - Lois Arnold Whig Rose 2 was made after I made Whig Rose 1 and gave it to a friend for Christmas. Whig Rose 1 received a 1st Place in the Applique Wall Hanging category at the Arizona Quilter's Guild Show the year it was made. The entire time I was working on Whig Rose 1, my husband kept saying he couldn't believe I was giving it away, so this one was for him. |
